ESGAUGE Insight

Benchmark Corporate Disclosure with Precision

Real-time, auditable data across governance, compensation, sustainability, and shareholder activity.

Insight codes what public companies actually disclose — proxy statements, annual reports, sustainability reports, N-PX filings — into structured fields you can screen, compare and cite. Every value carries a link back to the document it came from.

§ 01

What the platform does

Four capabilities, framed for the way legal and advisory teams actually work: benchmark, monitor, screen, and prove.

Identify gaps

Pinpoint disclosure weaknesses against peers and market benchmarks, field by field.

Track trends

Monitor emerging governance and ESG practices as they move across industries.

Accelerate analysis

Replace manual document review with structured data and screening tools.

Verify sources

Direct links to SEC filings, reports and company documents, for full auditability.

§ 02

Two exhibits

How a benchmarking question is answered on the platform — and how the answer is sourced. Both exhibits use illustrative values.

The subject company rises from 19.5 per cent of board seats held by women in 2020 to 34.0 per cent in 2024, overtaking both its industry peer group, which reaches 30.6 per cent, and the Russell 3000 average, which reaches 26.4 per cent. § 04

Coverage universe

Thousands of companies across seven index universes and three geographies, available as ready-made peer sets.

Benchmark a company against a named peer group and against a broad market index in the same view, without assembling either by hand.

  • Russell 3000United States
  • S&P 500United States
  • S&P MidCap 400United States
  • S&P SmallCap 600United States
  • S&P/TSX CompositeCanada
  • FTSE 350United Kingdom
  • S&P Europe 350Europe
On depth Coverage is field-level, not headline-level. Available detail includes board size and committee structure, director tenure and independence, proxy access terms, poison-pill triggers, say-on-pay approval rates, CEO pay ratio, and Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
On silence In the environmental and human-capital libraries, most metrics are paired with a matching disclosure-rate field — so what a company has not reported is coded too, and can be benchmarked like anything else.

§ 05

Trusted data, verifiable insights

The point of a benchmark is that it survives being questioned. Three things make a figure from Insight defensible in front of a board or a client.

Provenance

Primary sources only

Data is sourced directly from company filings and reports — SEC filings, company reports, and other company documents.

Auditability

Citation-linked disclosures

Every coded value carries a direct link to the document it was taken from, so any figure can be traced back and defended line by line.

Currency

Updated continuously

The dataset is updated continuously as new filings are released, so a benchmark reflects the current proxy season rather than last year's snapshot.

§ 06 — Access

Complimentary trial access is available for legal teams.

Request access and tell us which practice area you work in. Insight is a hosted platform — nothing to install, and every figure in it links back to the filing it came from.
